The Question is..

Are there as many doughnuts as there are curls? I think not. I was able to get a whopping 2 dozen perfectly crisp doughnut rounds plus doughnut holes from this recipe for Apple Cider Doughnuts. Silas was eager to help eat them. Can you blame him?

Unlike the recipe insists I used vegetable oil and they turned out awesome still.

you need to invite brother Clint, I remember one time watching him eat 10 krispy kremes as we commuted across the bridges out to pensacola beach. believe it was in the spring of 1998. To this day he is the donut king!

...and Clint was a donut king? I don't know if I have EVER seen him eat one...probably because he knows once he starts he may not want to stop!

Karen.... with the neon lights flashing, hot and now, how can you resist! When Teresa's mother comes to visit, within in an hour, she smiles and says "when are we going to Krisby Kremes."

Oh my gosh Christie those look delish! My first experience with apple cider doughnuts was at a cider mill in VT. I saw this recipe on Smitten Kitchen and now seeing it on your blog I really want to try it!

Jen,
They were so so good. I lost count of how many I ate... normally I'm very controlled, even with chocolate. They were just melting in my mouth. Such crispy yummy edges..
I'll be making them again soon.

Those look so amazingly wonderful, Sandra was hoping to make some, but they don't sell Crisco here in the UK, I guess I'll have to send a complaint to the Queen!
