5 Hours

What do you do when your husband commands you to leave the house with your mother without the children and have a good time? OBEY of course! That's right, mom and I had a 5 hour date on Saturday. We started things off right with lunch at the Red House Cafe, a delightful place to eat that was mentioned in the Bon Appetit' Magazine in the Fall. After lunch we strolled up and down the streets of Pacific Grove. We found a beautiful Orchid for a bargain, my gift from mom. We also hit a couple of thrift shops and found new treasures! We ended our time with a stop at a teeny, yet delectable chocolate store for a few snacks.. we still haven't finished them. What sweet times and I would say well needed too.

How wonderful! I have heard of that cafe, was it all the magazine claimed it to be?

Dad, that is soooo funny and Claire, you too! I guess this means I shouldn't blog about our game of Yahtzee and all the chocolate that was consumed in that 45 minute period!?

Maryn,
Have fun with your sweet mom.

Tiffany, it's AWESOME.

I am reading these comments as I clean the last of my chocolate nugget from my palate. If I were to self examine ... I would say chocolate had some control of me. I hope it never lets me go!

Karen, glad you were able to visit, Teresa is right behind you in a couple of weeks, sure wish we were all in a position to see the kids and grandchildren more often. We plan on being in the Fort Worth area in the fall, we will call you guys, see if we can arrange another date at the fancy eating place in downtown Longview.
